Lucious Layers....

Hello BRI friends, Norine from The Velvet Lemon, back with you for another Friday post!  Today I have two cards to share, made with my new Altenew Rose Flurries 3D dies.  Aren't those layered roses delicious??  

I die cut all my layers from watercolor paper and then painted them.  It's a pretty easy way to get four levels of shading from dark to light with just one color of paint, just by adding more water to the paint with each layer.  I did play around with a couple of the flowers introducing another shade to the layers for some extra interest.

For the background of this card I dry embossed a card stock panel with the Taylored Expressions Cross Stitch embossing folder.  In my head and heart, there is a link between the vintage florals like these layered sets, and the cross stitched gingham aprons my grandmother used to make and wear, so it seemed apropos to use them together on this card.  

Both cards have a little sentiment banner stamped with sentiments from the Concord & 9th Bits and Pieces stamp set, heat embossed with white and then tucked into the blooms and adhered.

For this card I mixed some molding paste with some Coral Bliss Altenew ink and smeared the paste over the Altenew Half Tone stencil.  Once it dries, and it doesn't take long, the layers of flowers and leaves can be adhered to it.
